MY RECCOMENDATION: Galkyd Lite thins oil colors and increases transparency and gloss. When working with oil paints, there's a common guideline: always use transparent colors for the shaded areas. If I thin the paint only with turpentine or some other thinner, the color loses its luster and liveliness. That's why I opt for this particular medium for the transparent layers of paint in the shadows; it gives the colors transparency and a nice sheen. Plus, it speeds up the drying process of oil paints.
